I have really enjoyed week two. It has been great getting started in labs and I look forward to clinicals next week. This week we learned how to take vital signs and I am relieved to get that over with. Group 1 has a great time in lab and I am glad we all get along so well. Thank you Sandy for letting all of us listen to your heart. Now we all just need to keep practicing taking vital signs. I think getting used to counting respiratory rate might be the most challenging. Practice makes perfect.
I am looking forward to the long weekend and the start of FSU football.
I forgot to thank Sandy for letting me listen to her murmer(spelling?). USC is about to start playing at 11 p.m. or 2300 hrs. They are ranked 14th in the polls and will be playing Hawaii. I thought it was cool having Assessment with another group just to see how they interacted, I guess what that 4th semester student was right wen he said before it was all over all 48 of us would get to know each other pretty good. Well, later bro, Davis out. Oh yeah, I figured out how to use my LG Envy as a modem for my laptop, probably no big deal for you but it was like rocket science for me.
ReplyDeleteI think that the respiratory rate may be one of the most challenging, but I think blood pressure is the most difficult for me. I think that counting the respiration's may be difficult if you can't see the patients chest rise visibly. Like you said, it will just take time and practice. I have been practicing a lot on everyone I know. It's paying off, but I definitely have more practice to do before clinicals start.
ReplyDeleteClinical will be fun!!! I can't wait, GO NOLES!!!
ReplyDeleteRemembering to check the respiratory rate among the other things is my issue. thinking about making a head to toe plan. Go Gators!!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to thank Sandy to lol. I'm finally getting the blood pressure down. I think bathing each other in lab this coming week will make for an easy day.
